Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

The 2-day CITB Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course is intended for those who have (or are about to have) supervisory responsibilities on a construction site.

The SSSTS course aims to enable delegates to:

  • Understand the health, safety, welfare and environmental health and safety issues relevant to their work activities
  • Understand the legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities
  • Safely supervise activities on a construction site

Key areas of the SSSTS course include:

  • The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant regulations
  • Identification of specific construction site issues including COSHH, Working at Height etc.
  • Health related issues
  • Control of subcontractors
  • Tool Box talks


  • Assessment

    During the SSSTS course, projects are undertaken in groups and constantly assessed by the course tutor. At the conclusion of the course, delegates are required to undertake a short multiple choice assessment. Delegates who successfully complete the projects and the assessment are awarded the ConstructionSkills Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme certificate.
